This engine is an Smoking Gun, and is called also the Flame Eater". It works with an adjustable alcohol burner. The rattling sound of this perfect working miniature reminds on the old Lanz Tractors.
This is an atmospheric hot-air motor, patented 1758 by Henry Wood. Outer air pressure does the work. The piston sucks flames through an open valve into the cylinder and heats the air inside.

Other models like the Greek Windmill can be driven with this vacuum motor.
